Team insights from Pub19 Show, London Olympia, 5th – 6th Feb 2019

The Daylight Energy and Green Wing UK team are now fully recovered from 2 days of exhibiting at Pub19 and have pulled together their thoughts and experiences on the event. As the only dedicated show for the UK Pub Industry, the show draws over 4,500 pub owners, over 200 suppliers and 50 expert industry speakers to London’s Olympia.

With a relatively small-scale stand, the team promoted the Green Wing UK flagship product, Coolnomix, for reducing energy usage on Air Conditioning and refrigeration units by 20 – 30%. Daylight Energy chose to focus on promoting the latest addition to our product range; Redheat infrared heating solution.

We were privileged to have a stand location close to the Pub Theatre, offering a range of insightful and information talks for the delegates. Talks included panel discussions on growing your business, staff recruitment and retention and securing funding. High profile speakers included David McDowall, CEO – Retail of BrewDog, Tim Martin, Chairman of JD Wetherspoon and Bill Lumley, Editor of Innkeeper Magazine.

The team were reassured by the delegates’ openness to sustainable solutions for Pub premises; we certainly feel that interest in increasing. Whether this is due to rising energy prices and/or an increased sense of environmental or Corporate Social Responsibility we cannot be sure, but the environmental future of Pub industry looks bright.

The Daylight Energy and Green Wing UK exhibition team were particularly impressed with London-based brewery Toast Ale who brew their beer from fresh surplus bread, donating all profits to charities to help end food waste.
